Question: Why visit Stickney Farm Park?
Answer: A visit to Stickney Farm Park will increase a child's knowledge and understanding of the countryside and life on a farm, as it is a rural working livestock and arable farm. Also one of the owners has 25 years teaching experience.
Question: What are the minimum and maximum group sizes?
Answer: We can cater for small groups quite easily, but for larger numbers we prefer individual classes so that we are able to give each school the attention they deserve*. The maximum number is 60 children.
* We only book one school a day for the same reason.
Question: How much of the visit is farmer led?
Answer: This is flexible. There is an optional guided tour which is included in the admission price. Alternatively you may opt for no input or the whole day can be led by the farm.
Question: What about E coli?
Answer: Whilst there is a real hazard of infection resulting from a Farm Visit, the
risks are easily diminished by everyday measures -
Question: Can we stroke the animals?
Answer: Yes! Stickney Farm Park is a "hands on" experience.
Question: Can we feed the animals?
Answer: Yes you can. A free bag of food will be allocated to each group leader at the reception. Please do not give the animals any other types of food as they may be bad for them. Please hold your hand flat at all times when feeding the animals.
Question: Are there any facilities for handwashing?
Answer: There are toilets and running warm water for hand-
Question: Is there anywhere the children can eat lunch?
Answer: If the weather is good there are picnic areas with tables and benches as well as grassed areas. If the weather is not good enough then there are undercover facilities in the school room.
Question: What type of clothing should visiting children wear?
Answer: Their clothing should be suitable for the weather conditions, including strong outdoor shoes, not sandals, or if possible wellington boots.
Question: Are we insured if we visit the Farm Park?
Answer: As an open farm we have public liability insurance.
Question: How much of the National Curriculum can we cover?
Answer: The visit can be organised so that it includes any focus you are addressing in the classroom. We recommend a preparation visit, free of charge, which will help us to specifically include any subjects you are studying on the curriculum. Please indicate details on booking form.
Question: How long should I allow for my visit?
Answer: You should allow yourself at least 2.5 hours for a reasonable time to see everything and to visit the gift shop.
Question: Is the farm suitable for the disabled?
Answer: The site is fairly level and there are firm walkways. Our signs are in large clear print. We have integrated play facilities. There are two unisex disabled toilets.

Answer: Some staff have been given basic first aid training but it is advisable to
bring along a first-
Question: Do the children need clip boards?
Answer: Stickney Farm Park can provide clip boards should you require them.
Question: Do the children need pocket money?
Answer: We have a small gift shop with a range of souvenirs, many of them at pocket
money prices. We do offer a gift bag service for school groups ONLY, which dispenses
with the difficulty of taking the children into the shop. The bags include pen, pencil,
rubber, postcard etc up to a value of £1, £2, or £5 also a free return visit voucher
for that season is included. All bags are prepared in advance -
